Hello everyone,

     I hope everyone is doing well and all the mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Swim practice starts tomorrow at the Westhampton pool.  Beginners are from 5:30-6:00pm; Intermediates are 6:00-6:45; and Advanced are from 6:45-7:00.  Be sure to bring a towel, goggles, and caps (if necessary).  Depending on the weather, sunscreen wouldn't hurt either.  

    Speaking of weather, this time of year the weather is unpredictable (especially during the evenings).  The primary way we communicate weather related cancelling is through texts/emails by using the "Rainedout" system.  Text "ELECTRICRAYS" to 84483 or go to rainedout.com, search for ELECTRICRAYS and log in that way.  I will be sending a test text out tomorrow morning so if you sign up by then you can ensure you are getting the texts. 

     The slogan vote is in and we had quite a number of votes.  The vote was pretty tight but the winner is....."These rays make waves".  We will be putting in the shirt order this week, we will order a few extra but not that many so let us know if you want one.

    Next, we are attempting to transition more and more to the website this year.  In regards to the meet volunteering, all of that will be handled through the website.  Previously we have used signup genius but that is going away.  If you log into the website, look under "upcoming events" or go to the swim meet tab under "schedule" you will see the list of meets.  Next to each meet there is a job signup button.  If you did not opt-out of volunteering (we know who you are :)), then please select a meet and which job you would like to sign up for.  At least one parent from each family needs to sign up for at least one job.  Next to each job there is a job description (I'm also in the process of creating one under the Q/A section) but if you have any questions about it please let me know.  

    Also soon there will be section opening up regarding who will be present in the meets and what events they would like to swim.  We will need each parent to verify whether their child will be attending the meet or not.  It should be complicated and there is more to follow.

    Last thing, remember to check the website (https://electricrays.swimtopia.com/) for the most up to date information.  It also has our practice schedule, meet schedule, meet locations and addresses, job signups for meets, pictures (which will be continually updated), and other pertinent information.  And as always feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

    I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.  I was down there today and the water looks great and my children said the water wasn't that cold....so take that for what it is worth :)  It's going to be an excellent season and I'm excited to see it get underway!!
