2021 Here we come

WOW, believe it or not we have made it through 2020 and are moving through 2021.  While this season will still not be a "normal" season we are definitely moving in a positive direction.  Registration will be opening soon and there is good news and bad news.  The good news is that we are planning on having a season and getting back into the water.  And even better news, we have a new head coach this year.  Caroline Freshwater has stepped up to lead the Electric Rays this year.  I will be assisting in the transition but am confident that she will be able to handle all that this job throws at her.  The bad news is that because of concerns with the pandemic many of the swim teams we normally compete against in ASA will be doing either virtual or not participating.  To be honest, to participate in virtual meets, in my opinion, doesn't  justify the costs in us to join ASA so this season we are opting out of being part of ASA.  Now what does this mean?  The first and biggest thing is there will be no in-person meets against ASA teams this season.  We hope to have smaller meets against ourselves throughout the year.  These meets will be much quicker and we will have more flexibility as to the timing.  We also hope to participate in the City of Tucker swim meet held near the end of July but we are still trying to figure out those details.  Second, because we are not participating in ASA our fees will go down.  They will be $75 for the first swimmer, $60 for the second, and $50 for each subsequent swimmer.  We will attempt to have ribbons, trophies, and t-shirts this season but as with everything else we ask for flexibility as we attempt to navigate this situation.  As alway
