2021 Electric Rays Season
Hey everyone! It’s that time of the year again and our 2021 swim season is right around the corner. If you are getting this email, it is because you swam with us in the past couple of years. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you know who might be interested or direct them to our website (https://electricrays.swimtopia.com).
If you don’t know me, my name is Caroline and I am so excited for our swim season! This will be my first season as head coach, but I have been assistant coaching for several years now and Jason will be helping me transition to this new role. I’m really looking forward to working with you all!
We are so excited to start getting back to normal after all the craziness of last year. Having swimteam is a big step, however, our season is still going to look a little different from previous years. We will be operating outside of ASA this year and instead be having in-house meets. Swimming is, unfortunately, a sport that does not allow for the safe and functional wearing of masks, so if you are uncomfortable with this we do not recommend that you participate this year. We plan to start practices early-mid May (around the week of May 16). Our team consists of swimmers aged 5-18 and our practices are split into three age-appropriate groups. Practices are tentatively scheduled for Monday-Thursday to start between 5-7, depending on which group your swimmer is in.
The fees for this year have been dropped to $75 for your first swimmer, $60 for a second swimmer, and $50 for each additional swimmer. This fee must be paid in order to be eligible to swim in meets and earn ribbons, trophies, or other awards.
Our website is in the process of being updated with the appropriate information for the 2021 season. We do not yet have registration open, but we will send out another email when that opens with more details regarding the season. If you have any questions about the swim team please check our website. If you can not find the information you need there, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Looking forward to a great season,
Caroline Freshwater
