WH/EH Swim Team 2022 begins next week!
Hello all,
Believe it or not swim team season 2022 is upon us. Things are going to start spinning up pretty fast so if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me. I check the swim team inbox regularly but if you need to get in touch with me immediately you can email my personal email @ [email protected].
1. Swim team practice is schedule to begin a week from tomorrow with the first practice being on Monday the 16th. The pool is filled and they are working on the getting the chemicals set and signed off by the county. Remain flexible but as of now that is our anticipated start date. I will send out another email once confirmed.
2. Remember your child needs to be able to swim one length of the pool to be on the team. We do allow a week (maybe two) if a child is close but we usually know relatively quickly the child's ability. If your child is really struggling we may need the parent to get in the pool to help out.
3. Remember the first 5:30-6:00 practice session is for children who can swim 1 to 2 laps unassisted. The second 6:00-6:45 practice session is for the mid-range group and the last 6:45-7:30 session is for the advanced swimmers. If you are unsure what group your child belongs to ask and we will suggest a group or just try one out and see which group best works with your schedule.
4. Our head coaches this year are myself, David Martinez, and Claudia Freshwater with Kate Nawyn and Seda Barranco helping as assistant coaches.
5. Check the team website regularly. That is where you will find the most up to date information regarding meet and practice information. Also download the swimtopia app (if you haven't already) as that is how we will notify everyone regarding practice cancellations due to weather. Our first meet is a home meet on May 31st.
6. If you know someone who is planning on swimming but hasn't registered yet please let them know we are beginning and need to register. We will be ordering shirts after the first week of practice so to be guaranteed a shirt you must be registered by then.
7. Lastly, I may be out of town the first week of practice for work but I will leave everyone in good hands with David and Claudia.
8. If this is your first year of swim team, things move fast and seem to be hectic (many times because they are) but please ask me or any of the coaches and we will help as best we can.
Looking forward to a fun filled 2022 season!!!!
GO ELECTRIC RAYS!!!!
Jason
