2023 summer league practice begins one week from tomorrow!!

Wow, it’s hard to believe but summer league swim season is right around the corner….literally. Even though the weather has been a bit cooler than normal our anticipated first practice is slated for Monday, May 15th @ Embry Hills pool. There is a small chance that may need to get bumped a few days as we need to wait until the pool passes inspection. If so, I will let everyone know the status as soon as I do but for right now we seem to be on track for a May 15th start date.

I also want to introduce everyone to our new head swim coach this year, Maddie Doesburg!!!. She is a 21 years old student at KSU, studying early childhood education with a desire to teach kindergarten. She was the swim team captain for Druid Hills high school for four years and swam in the summer league for Pangborn (we won’t hold that against her :)). We are super excited to have her on board and excited to see what she is capable of.

Some general housekeeping items: First, remember the first practice is from 5:30-6:00pm. It is for the younger group but they should still be able to swim at least one length unassisted. 6:00-6:45 is the middle group (2 or more lengths in a row without stopping) and 6:45-7:30 is the older group (multiple laps without stopping).  Second, don't forget goggles, towels, and sunscreen (if needed).  Third, we are here to help.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly or check out the Q&A section on our website (electricrays.swimtopia.com).

I know swimming (especially for you first timers) can be overwhelming, but we are here to help smooth out any concerns you may have.

Looking forward to a great 2023 season!!

Jason
