PLEASE READ: Important Electric Rays 2025 End of Season Updates

Can you believe it's already almost the end of our 2025 season? (Sniff, sniff.) It has been a tricky one at times with us dodging storms at meets and practicing in what seems like the rainiest swim season we've ever had. We appreciate all of you for hanging in there with us, getting your kids to practice, and helping make this season a success. We could not have done it without the amazing parental support we have had, so THANK YOU ELECTRIC RAYS PARENTS!!

Now onto the business of the end-of-season excitement!

  • First - If your swimmer is participating in the ASA Championship meet on June 25 at 9:30 AM at GA Tech, entries are due TODAY! We highly encourage all Electric Rays meet competitors to participate. It's a very fun meet and is extremely well organized. If your child will be participating, please consider signing up to volunteer. We typically only need a handful of volunteers at this meet, and volunteering gives you special access to the pool deck and other areas. Also, it's fun! HOT TIP for everyone: Go ahead and purchase parking now to avoid having to park and walk a mile. Here's the link: https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events. Select Day 1 Morning Session. I forgot to reserve parking last year and had to do the walk - don't let that happen to you!
  • Second - I am collecting donations for the coaches' end-of-season gifts which will be presented to them at the end-of-season party. Please contribute to help us thank these coaches who have worked so hard in all kinds of weather (mostly bad!)! A recommended donation of $25-30 per swimmer via Venmo is preferred, but let me know if you need to contribute via cash or another app. My Venmo is @Sarah-Adams-545 (last 4 digits of mobile: 6751). Please send your contributions by next Tuesday, June 24!
  • Third - we absolutely crushed the Krispy Kreme Digital Dozens fundraiser. We had 23 swimmers participating, and cruised passed our sales goal of 174 vouchers to hit 190! We made $1,425 for our team which will help pay our coaches and provide seed money for desperately needed replacement lane lines at our home meet pool of Embry Hills Club. Thank you to everyone who participated!
    • Our top three fundraisers were: #1 Damian Marlow, #2 Charlotte Sayegh, and #3 Hayden Adams. I will be reaching out to each of them to let them select their prizes.
    • All 23 swimmers who sold at least one voucher will receive a water blaster to use for a water fight during the end-of-season party on June 26 at 6 PM at Embry Hills Club. If your swimmer is unable to be there, please reach out to me and I will connect with you to get you his/her blaster.
  • Fourth - We will be collecting Play It Again Sports Donations through Tuesday so please bring any equipment you'd like to donate tonight or tomorrow night to Embry Hills Club and hand it off to a parent committee member.
  • Fifth - Tomorrow's home meet v. Pangborn (see Peter Gurd's earlier email for more details):
    • Don't forget that we are taking a team photo taken by Electric Rays Parent Committee member and talented photographer, Justin Marlow. Your swimmer should arrive at Embry Hills Club between 4:15 and 4:30, wearing their 2025 team shirt. Team photos will be FREE and will be emailed out when they are finalized.
    • We will need volunteers for this meet as well as concessions donations so please sign up! We hope to make a lot of $$ in concessions this meet due to the size of Pangborn's team.
    • Pangborn has always been a great host when we compete at their pool. Help us make them feel welcome by taking up only the space you need on the deck and saving room for their team's parents to the extent you can. Reminding your swimmers that their seat is in the bullpen with the rest of the Electric Rays swimmers will help tremendously. :)
    • We'll be going to the Chamblee-Tucker Dairy Queen location as a team immediately after the meet. This DQ is about 1 mile from Embry Hills Club after making a left on Chamblee-Tucker coming out of Embry Hills.
    • We are also honoring our senior swimmers this meet so please stay until the end to help us cheer them on!
  • Last but not least - Next week's FINAL regular season meet is AT Mountain Creek on MONDAY, June 23. We always shift to a Monday regular season meet during the last week of the season so there is a little breather before the ASA Championship Meet. Mountain Creek is east of downtown Tucker, near Smoke Rise, but not quite as far. You should allow for 20-30 minutes of travel time depending on the weather. The arrival time for swimmers will be 5:00 unless you hear otherwise. Go ahead and declare your swimmer's entry for this meet now to avoid a last-minute rush.

We're excited to have a few more practices and a couple of meets left with you this season and we can't wait to celebrate with you next Thursday at the end-of-season party! Let's make these last two weeks the best of the season!

Go Electric Rays!!
